Having recently opened its first Queensland store, Digital Camera Warehouse hopes to add two more stores in 2010.
"We have plans for a couple of more stores but we'll definitely open one more store this year," DCW marketing manager Sharyn McKissock said.
DCW's new Brisbane store is at Annerley. Existing DCW stores are located at Canterbury in Sydney and Northcote in Melbourne.
McKissock said they had received a lot of positive feedback from existing online customers and new customers who 'welcomed the competition.'
The expansion of DCW's 'bricks and mortar' business underlines the strength of the company's business model, according to McKissock.
"Our initial success was due to the fact that we were one of the first e-tailers to see synergy between the product and the internet," she said. "The price proposition was clear - it was cheaper to source online."
However, she said that people who order online account or less than 30% of DCW's business.
"Not everyone can walk into store so they will order online and there are those that know us and are comfortable to order online," she said. "But most people go online to choose a product and like to come into a store to pick up."
