The invisibleSHIELD film is available as a cover for LCD screens, or as as a full wrap.

Film 'wrap' for camera protection

A new competitor to the camera pouch has arrived in Australia in the form of invisibleSHIELD, a scratchproof and stain-resistant protective film.

The thin but tough transparent film uses "cutting-edge, patent pending technology originally developed to protect military helicopter blades from wind, sand, and the wear and tear of high speed travel".

It is currently being sold online in Australia and via retail outlets.

Manufacturer, Zagg, says that with over 2000 precision cut designs, there is an invisibleSHIELD available for almost every handheld electronic device on the market, including phones, MP3 players or digital cameras - even DSLR models.

Paul Branagan, invisibleSHIELD product manager with distributor Deep Blue, said  the technology is designed to protect and preserve the sleek design and "glossiness" of modern gadgets.

“Before invisibleSHIELD there were only two choices; a sexy new gadget hidden away in a bulky case or a sexy new gadget covered with scratches,” he said.

“However with this new technology, gadget enthusiasts will be able to show off their new toys, without fear of damage. In fact, Zagg is so confident in the quality of this product that a lifetime warranty is being offered; if invisibleSHIELD is ever scratched or damaged, the film will be replaced for free.”

He said that the invisibleSHIELD film is available both as a full "camera wrap" and for covering LCD screens only.

Prices starrt at $19.95.
