Kodak put photo sharing centre stage at CES with the launch of four EasyShare cameras as well as a touchscreen camera and an affordable update of its Zi8 pocket camcorder.
The PlaySport pocket camcorder supplants the Zi8 and is waterproof down to 10 feet - a first for this type of device.
The pocket-size video camcorder captures 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second and features built-in software and a USB cable output that enables users to edit and share video by uploading to sites like YouTube and Facebook.
The Kodak Slice Touchscreen Camera is a new design that combines a slim profile with a touchscreen user interface.
The Slice can store up to 5000 photos in its 2 gigabytes of internal memory. Kodak touts the camera's ability to let users tag and sort images by person, place, date, or occasion, and then view them on the roomy 3.5-inch LCD. The camera has a dedicated share button that marks photos for upload to Facebook, Kodak Gallery, Flickr, YouTube sites and e-mail addresses.
