FUJIFILM is putting Bob The Builder to work for new photo gift ideas.
More kiosks, more gift ideas
Special Feature: Photo giftsAs the number of in-store kiosks continues to increase, the face of retail and how consumers shop is set to change significantly in the near future, according to FUJIFILM Australia managing director, Dave Marshall.
In the lead up to PMA in Sydney earlier this year, Marshall said that while photo kiosks are now commonplace, retailers will soon be selling a much broader range of kiosk products in-store, such as music, DVDs, games and software.
“We expect the concept will prove so popular with consumers that it will soon be commonplace for major retailers to be equipped with approximately 50 kiosks in-store,” he said.
“Each kiosk range will be located in various departments throughout major retail stores, complete with product applications that offer do-it-yourself services. “Photo kiosks offering print services and photo gifts have already proven to be a popular choice for both large and small retailers as it enables them to expand their range of product offerings to consumers without the need to physically carry stock in-store.
“In fact, FUJIFILM Australia has already installed more than 6000 digital photo kiosks in retail outlets nationally. In addition to music applications already available, FUJIFILM is now also pioneering new retail kiosk applications that offer movies and software on demand.
“Consumers are already well accustomed to the concept of ordering via photo kiosks and will soon have the opportunity to access many other products the same way,” he said.
Marshall added that multi-kiosk stores offering a broad selection of merchandise are the way of the future for both large and small retailers.
FUJIFILM is also promoting its new software that will enable customers to create personalised photo gifts with licensed characters such as Bob The Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine, Star Wars and Looney Tunes.
