Ricoh slides in with interchange GXR camera

Ricoh staged a simultaneous worldwide PR campaign to launch its revolutionary GXR interchangeable unit camera that claims to be the world's smallest and and lightest digital camera with the ability to change lenses.

The camera utilises a slide-in mount system to attach camera units to the body. The lens, image sensor and image processing engine are integrated into the camera units so the body itself does not contain an image sensor.

The GXR will be sold exclusively through the Ricoh Pro G dealer network in association with Australian distributor Tasco.

The indicative price guide (plus GST) is - GXR camera body ($616 RRP), GR lens camera unit ($1100 RRP) and the Ricoh lens camera unit ($616 RRP).
