Alderson spins off Photo Imports division

Alderson Camera Stores has separated its importing and wholesale division by setting up Photo Imports Australia to operate independently from July 1.

Previously operating under the banner of retailer Foto Riesel Image Solutions (also an Alderson Camera Stores division), Photo Imports has been removed from the structure of Foto Riesel and has been structured separately in order to “expand the business and provide more consistent service for a greater number of dealers and stockists.”

The Photo Imports range includes Quantum, Multiblitz, Domke, Billingham, onOne, Genus, Kaiser, Printfile, Fotospeed and Gepe.

The new web portal, www.photoimports.com.au offers resellers, dealers and stockists of Photo Import lines access to product information and RRP pricing in a format which is no longer “Foto Riesel centric”.

Photo Imports business development manager Scott Reece said: “Previously, stockists and retailers were purchasing directly from Foto Riesel, which, in most cases, is their direct competition. Removing the importing business from Foto Riesel means resellers can now send their customers to www.photoimports.com.au for product information without fear they are sending them directly to Foto Riesel, and perhaps losing them forever.”
