Canon has released a new lead model in its IXUS compact camera range, the IXUS 1000 HS. the first model to incorporate HD movies as well as a 10x optical zoom.
Canon claims the IXUS 1000 HS is the world’s slimmest camera (22.3mm wide) to feature a 10x optical zoom. Canon has not released pricing details but the IXUS 1000 will be available from next month.
Canon has replaced its S90 PowerShot with the S95, which features an advanced HD movie mode. Can also expanded the PowerShot range with the addition of the SX130 IS.
The PowerShot SX130 IS and S95 offer advanced movie shooting, providing users the versatility of capturing those special moments in stunning stills and also in high definition video footage with stereo sound, according to, Canon Australia brand manager – DSC Danielle Hinton.
Canon has also released the new SELPHY CP800 – the “most sleek and compact printer in the Canon SELPHY range”.
The SELPHY CP800 has a ‘Shuffle’ print feature, that allows users to select images and have them automatically laid out on a single piece of photo paper. Again, no pricing details at present but the CP800 will be available from late September.
Two additions have been made to the range of PIXMA all-in-one printers. The PIXMA MG6150 and the top-of-the-line MG8150, offer Canon's new Intelligent Touch System as well as full high definition movie prints, allowing users to print from full HD movies.
For Apple iPhone and iPod touch users, the Canon Easy-PhotoPrint EX application is now compatible with the new wireless multifunction printers.
No pricing details yet but the MG6150 and MG8150 will be available from October.
