Only three of the five Rabbit Photo outlets that were subject to change of ownership negotiations appear to have ‘lived to fight another day’.
When FUJIFILM closed the majority of its Rabbit Photo network last year, five stores – Belconnen (ACT) and Leichhardt, Erina, Miranda and Shellharbour in NSW – were said to be under negotiation for a change of ownership.
The Erina store is now trading as Pixxel Photo and is operated by the same group that runs Photogenic at Balmain.
As reported last week by PIN Online, the Miranda store has had a major makeover to become the third digiDIRECT outlet in Sydney.
The Belconnen store has been rebranded by the Photo Solutions group, which has a network of stores in Melbourne. It’s understood negotiations for the Leichhardt store fell over.
Meantime, PIN Online has had no success with attempts to contact the former Rabbit Photo store at Shellharbour, which appears to have closed with no on-going contact number.
Rabbit Photo at one time had more than 160 outlets but store numbers gradually declined as FUJIFILM conducted a drawn-out withdrawal from the retail sector.
