Kayell hosts a rare industry gathering at 40th shindig

More than 100 people attended Kayell’s 40th anniversary dinner in Sydney last week, an event which underlined the company’s commitment to “staying ahead of the game".
As reported in PMA Newsline last Friday, friends and business partners from all over Australia gathered to hear Kayell’s retired co-founder John Koens reveal how the company developed in the early 1970’s through to the acquisition and subsequent divestment by trading group Hagemeyer and the hand-over to the current management team of Kayell Australia, Robert Gatto and Andreas Johansson. The other co-founder Hans Leijer was unable to attend due to family commitments.
Senior executives from companies such as Epson, Canon, Nikon, GMG, Canson, Adeal, Eizo, Maxwell International and others joined numerous professional photographers, printing industry personnel and media types in a “convergence of imaging industry people rarely seen”, according to Gatto.
“To survive and prosper in the professional imaging industry for 40 years requires constant attention to change and technology but one thing that remains the same is being a people-focused company. This has always been Kayell’s great strength, learned from its founders and practiced by the current management,” he said.
