Panasonic puts Jessica Watson in the picture

Panasonic managing director Steve Rust is currently starring on Facebook via his one-on-one interview with teenage round-the-world sailor Jessica Watson.

During the interview (conducted prior to the teenager’s epic voyage) Rust provides a few tips on getting the best out some Panasonic cameras that were aboard Ella Pink Lady for the seven month journey.

The kit comprised two DMC-FT1 rugged LUMIX Cameras, a DMC-FZ35 camera with high optical zoom, manual control and RAW capability and a HDC-TM200-K video camera. Panasonic also provided four CF-30 Toughbook ruggedised laptops.

Rust explained that the laptops would enable Watson to upload and send video and photos of her voyage captured using the FT1’s AVCHD video and the high optical zoom FZ35 with manual control for still images.

Panasonic posted updates on the voyage via it’s Jessica Watson blog as well as on its Twitter and Facebook accounts.
