PMA 2010 'Hot Picks' for retailers

An innovative metal photo image product and 3D hardware were among the ‘hottest’ of the Retailer Hot Picks from the show floor at this year’s PMA Digital Imaging Expo.

Panasonic’s prototype 3D movie camera was nominated twice as was FUJIFILM’s 3D W1 Finepix camera.

Print 2 Metal’s new printing technology also impressed, with large format waterproof and scratch resistant metal prints offering retailers good margin on a product that offers a variety of applications.

The product is manufactured by infusing hybrid inks into specially-coated aluminium.

Other “hot Picks’ selected by retailers under the guidance of PMA presenter and marketing consultant Bill McCurry included:

• Joby Flare and Expo Disc (Maxwell)

• Samsung NX10

• Topaz Labs software

• Kodak Pulse digital frame (with email capability)

• Lenspen (Tasco)

• CameraRecycle

• Expo Disc (Maxwell)

• Kodak Kiosk software

• Ice Block photo frame (DCO Concepts)

• Floating Acrylics (Industry Partnerships)
