PMA Launches Photo Publishing Quickstart

PMA – the Worldwide Community of Imaging Associations, debuts Photo Publishing Quickstart, an online resource containing everything needed to research, to compare, and to evaluate the photo publishing market, software, and equipment. The resource is the latest addition to the PMA+ services portfolio, offering out-of-the-box solutions to bring in new customers and make running your business easier.

The PMA Photo Publishing Quickstart online resource, available to all PMA+ members, includes: The Digital Big Picture, an overview of the photo publishing market; a business marketing plan for the photo publishing market; marketing research reports on the photo publishing market; ROI calculator and analysis; success stories from photo retailers; and coming soon, a photo publishing software comparison tool. The Digital Big Picture is a comprehensive analysis of the photo publishing market, and details the key elements to understand to be successful in this market.

Photo publishing now represents 35 percent of total digital photo printing revenue, up from 24 percent in 2005. While revenues from standard digital photo printing declined 3 percent in 2009, photo publishing revenue grew, and is expected to continue growing in 2010 and beyond. Photo publishing products give photo businesses a pathway into the multi-billion dollar stationery and gifting businesses by providing unique (better) and cheaper stationery and gifting products.

For more information concerning PMA Photo Publishing Quickstart, contact Laura Covey at 800-762-9287, ext. 131.

Also worth noting, photo publishing will be a major theme surrounding the upcoming PMA 2010 International Convention and Trade Show, Feb. 21-23, at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, Calif. There will be a photo publishing track at DIMA 2010 for anyone thinking of getting into the market. Also highlighted will be the latest in photo books and software at the DIMA Photo Book Showcase in booth 3448 on the PMA 2010 trade show floor.
