Electrical and appliance retail buying group Retravision Southern has invited six agencies to pitch for its creative advertising account.
Advertising industry magazine Ad News reports that Retravision Southern has approached M&C Saatchi, The Faith Agency, CHE, The Sphere Agency, Clemenger BBDO and another undisclosed agency.
The retailer's incumbent agency Melbourne-based Balance Advertising and Marketing, which developed the group’s ‘Going the extra mile’ campaign, is not involved in the review.
Retravision Southern, which incorporates all the advertising activities for Victoria, Tasmania and southern NSW, almost halved its a main media spend to $5.1 million in the 12 months to February, according to Nielsen research.
Retravision Northern (which incorporates stores and Queensland and northern NSW) and Retravision WA (covering WA, SA and the Northern Territory) manage their marketing activities independently.
It’s also been reported that Retravision WA may be sold with several private equity interested in acquiring the business.
Retravision encompasses around 400 stores nationally, all independently-owned.
