Sony has thrown its hat into the ultra-compact mirrorless interchangeable lens camera ring by showcasing a mock-up version at the PMA Show in Anaheim.
Although details are sketchy, it’s expected Sony will enter the micro four thirds market this year to compete head-on against the Olympic PEN range, Panasonic’s G series and Samsung’s newly-released NX10.
The un-named Sony mock-up features an Exmor APS-C HD CMOS sensor and will support HD video recording using the AVCHD H.264 format. Sony also displayed mock-ups of an Alpha DSLR-A700 replacement, with full-HD video-recording capability.
