Hasselblad makes a gift of gold camera

Through its local distributor Shriro (HK), Hasselblad launched a celebratory 18k gold limited edition of the legendary 503CW camera with a great deal of fanfare in China recently.

The first camera of a series of 60 units covering all years from 1949 to 2009, was donated to the photo department of Xinhua News Agency, the world's largest news agency with more than 100 offices worldwide and over 30 offices throughout China.

Xinhua reporters have used Hasselblad equipment since the 1950s and continue to be active users of the Swedish gear, made famous for its role in recording the first landing on the moon.
