Panasonic to release new G micro system cameras in June

Panasonic will release two new models in its Lumix G micro system in June but is not expected to announce pricing details for at least another two months.
The LUMIX DMC-G2 and LUMIX DMC-G10 are the latest models in Panasonic’s micro system line-up of new-generation digital interchangeable lens system cameras.
The LUMIX DMC-G2 features touch screen shooting, a first for an interchangeable lens system camera while the DMC-G10 includes functions such as face detection and ‘intelligent’ resolution.
Panasonic Australia group marketing manager for Lumix, Alistair Robins, said the two new models come at a time of growing interest in the technology.
“We are expecting an extremely positive reaction from photographers and dealers around Australia when these new models are released mid-year,” he said.
The DMC-G2 is being promoted as the world's smallest and lightest system camera, and has a new 3” LCD touch screen. The G10 carries similar specifications to the G2, but without the swivel, touch-enabled LCD viewfinder display.
The G10 does not feature AVCHD Lite video but captures 720p video in motion JPEG format.
